The soma is relating to the mind, body, spirit as a whole being. We all experience stress in our lives from a variety of sources whether it's physically, mentally or emotionally. Chronic experiences of stress and trauma often aren't fully expressed and begin to build up as pressure within our soma. Somatic breathwork is designed to facilitate the release of suppressed stress that is built up in our somas through expression. The process can be uncomfortable but through that discomfort you are offered the unique opportunity to clear out suppressed stress and activated defenses.
Using the breath you'll go on an inward journey connecting to your breath as a guide allowing yourself to experience the full spectrum of your nervous systems range. The first half of the session will be more intense breathing designed to promote clearing and activation and the second half is more gentle and designed to promote clarity of accessed emotions and relaxation.
It is common to experience a variety of expressions during a session such as: joy, love, peace, serenity, pain, grief, sadness, sensuality, shame, doubt, and fears. All forms of expression are welcome and supported during the session. It's best to let go of any expectations and allow yourself to show up and acknowledge what comes up for you during your session.
After the session you'll enter into an integration process where you can take the insights and newly reached awareness towards your life. Support and resources will be provided with the best intentions.
